Surfer Paradise - Mentawai Islands


Observing the graceful charm of unspoiled nature and its preservation awake on an island in the middle of the Indian ocean is certainly very impressive. Walking through the thick forest through the paths in a National Park area with remarkable natural phenomenon could be an interesting adventure and unforgettable. Mentawai Islands is an archipelago that lies off the coast of West Sumatra province. This archipelago consists of four main island groups that inhabited are island of Siberut, Sipora island, North Pagai island and South Pagai island. In addition there are other small islands that are only planted with coconut trees.

Mentawai Islands became one of adventure, cultural tourism and marine tourism destinations in West Sumatra. Ancient tropical rainforests cover most of the island of Siberut and this place to be a natural habitat for 16 endemic species and several species are categorized as endangered species. By UNESCO, Siberut island designated as a biosphere reserve.

Mentawai tribes living in the culture and traditions that they hold dear. Mentawai tribe can be encountered in the interior of the island of Siberut, there are Madobak, ugai and Matotonan village. The tourists can stay overnight in the uma (Traditional house of  Mentawai tribe) and see or mingle in the life of the indigenous tribes Mentawai. They still wear distinctive clothing called khabit made form bark. Most of their bodies decorated with tattoos that are an important symbol in Melawai culture as a symbol of maturity and status. Tattoo art has been passed down from their ancestors and tattoo inks they use are still using natural dyes. You can try to make a tatto for your body with them.

Waters in the Mentawai Islands is amazing. Height and length of the waves rolling in on almost every beach and used for surfing activities. Activities can be done in several surfing beaches in the Mentawai islands, there are Nyangnyang beach, Karang Bajak beach, Karoniki beach and Pananggelat Mainuk beach which are all located in the district of South Siberut. Surfing is a tourism icon for the Mentawai archipelago that has been known throughout the world. Several times has held the international surfing competitions here. No less than 400 "surf spot" in the Mentawai islands. Bosua village on the southern tip of the island known for most perfect waves with wave heights up to 4 meters, many tourists and surfers visit Mentawai Islands on summer.

Besides surfing activities, you can do diving and snorkeling to see the underwater sights at some dive point. Awera Island and Siruso coast frequented visited by tourists for recreation because the sea is crystal clear, with white sand beaches. Beautiful landscape you can find there.

Madobak villages: one village where people still maintain traditional culture of life in performing daily life such as hunting, gathering medicinal and religious ceremonies. In this village we can find natural baths.
Saumanganyak Village : contained Rua Oinan  lake that located in the middle of the forest.
Bulasat Village : there is a Bat Soumang waterfall with a torrential flow of rivers suitable for rafting.
Katiet Hamlet, Bosua bay, Nyangnyang island, Mapaddegat, Sibugue bay and Pittoijat: the waves are perfect for surfing with a height of up to 4 meters.

The way to the Mentawai
You can get through the international airport Soekarno - Hatta Jakarta and continue your flight with destination airport Tabing (Padang - West Sumatra). Through the bay harbor bayur - Padang, you can use  ferry to the Mentawai islands.

The Last Dinosaur Species In The World Still Exist In Komodo National Park - Indonesia



For tourists who love adventure tour by visiting exotic places, diving and down nature, Komodo National Park will make your vacation an unforgettable tour. You can see traces of past life are preserved and exist in the habitat until now. Komodo is the last of the dinosaur species that lived thousands of years ago.

Komodo National Park is one of the conservation area that aims to save species of giant lizard dragons or a unique and rare. Komodo Island is located between the provinces of West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara which includes the island of Komodo, Rinca and Padar island and several small islands with a land area covering 603 km2. Komodo dragons are known by the scientific name Varanus komodoensis is the world's largest lizard species. Very sharp sense of smell makes komodo dragons can detect prey carcasses as far as 9 kilometers by using his tongue. Toxins and bacteria on the teeth is a natural weapon owned by dragons.

Komodo breed by laying eggs. But research has shown that Komodo dragons can reproduce without fertilization (parthenogenesis). It is thought to have saved the dragons from extinction.

In addition, komodo national park has a panoramic view of savanna and the underwater scenery are the main attraction of potential marine tourism such as fishing, snorkeling and diving you can do there with exotisme coral reefs and fish. Some interesting sites to visit include Loh Liang, Red Beach, Sabita Loh, Loh Buaya, Pulau Kalong, Golo Code, Molo Strait. There are 36 dive spots in the Komodo National Park is often visited by tourists as Tatawa island , Red Beach, Gililawa, Loh Dasami, Pillar Steen, Batu Bolong and Taka Makasar.

As one of the flagship attraction, the Park provides accommodation ranging from accommodation provided by local people until international standard resort. Eco-tourism is expected to be able to bring in more domestic and foreign tourists.

To reach this place could do with a journey overland from Bali - Mataram - Bima - Sape then use the ferry to Labuan Bajo. From the Labuhan Bajo, tourists can visit the Komodo National Park using a speedboat.

Explore the Exotic of Bunaken Marine Park - Indonesia





Bunaken is an island covering an area of ​​8.08 km ² in Manado Bay, located on the northern island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. This island is part of the city of Manado, the provincial capital of North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Bunaken island can be traveled by speed boat (speed boat) or a rented boat with about 30 minute trip from the port city of Manado. Bunaken National Park is representative of Indonesian tropical water ecosystems consisting of mangrove ecosystems, seagrass beds, coral reefs and coastal ecosystems. This marine park has a marine biodiversity one of the highest in the world. Bunaken National Park is one of the world's most beautiful marine park. Most of the coastal areas of mangrove forests and white sand. There is a sea of hard and soft coral reefs, steep rock walls with various shapes and colors of the sea. Recorded 13 genera of corals living in waters of Bunaken National Park, dominated by fringing reefs and coral reef barrier. Approximately 91 species of fish found in the waters of Bunaken National Park, including gusumi horse (Hippocampus horse), white OCI (Seriola rivoliana), yellow tail lolosi (Lutjanus kasmira), goropa (Ephinephelus spilotoceps hypselosoma), ila trunk (Scolopsis bilineatus), and others. Types of mollusks like giant clams (Tridacna gigas), head of the goat (Cassis cornuta), hollow nautilus (Nautilus pompillius) and tunikates / ascidian


Scuba diving attracts many visitors to the island. Bunaken marine park has 20 point dive (dive spot) with varying depths of up to 1344 meters. From 20 points dive, 12 points located around Bunaken Island. Twelve point of diving is the most frequently visited by divers and underwater scenery lovers. Most of the 12 point dive in Bunaken Island lined up from the southeast to the northwest of the island. In this region there is a great underwater walls, also called the hanging walls, or walls of the giant rock that stands vertically and curved upward. The wall rock is also a food source for fish in the waters around the island
